FAQ
I’d love to take a tour of the Sanders Estate! How should I arrange for that?
We’d love to show you around! Tours are available by appointment only, so give us a call and we’ll arrange a time that works.
How do I reserve the Sanders Estate for my big wedding day?
Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. A signed rental agreement and a non-refundable $1500 deposit are required to reserve your date.
I’d like to offer guests alcohol at my event, what are my options?
Of course! We’ve hosted dry events, but we understand that sometimes you want to toast with champagne! So, here’s what we’ll provide: A licensed, professional caterer from our exclusive caterer’s list, as well as a licensed bartender to serve any alcoholic beverages. We’ll also request that you obtain a Banquet Permit from any Washington State Liquor Store, and send us your proof of permit at least 30 days prior to your event.
What kind of alcohol do you allow on-site?
The Sanders Estate welcomes you to serve beer (kegs are just fine!), wine and champagne, but we do not allow hard liquor on-site. And of course, in the event your guests become noticeably intoxicated, we reserve the right to close the bar.
What about a rehearsal for the big wedding day?
A one-hour rehearsal will be available to you at no cost at a time of your choice (but during our business hours of 9AM – 6PM) the week before your wedding ceremony on a space available basis. As a forewarning: Because of other events, rehearsals on Friday are limited due to afternoon/evening Events.
Do you offer any consultation or planning services for my event?
Of course, in fact we’re one of the only local event venues that offer consultation as a courtesy, free of charge. Although our staff members do not operate as wedding coordinators on the day of the event, you will receive personalized attention throughout the day to assist you with any facility issues.
What about damage deposits?
A damage deposit of $1000 is required for all events with alcohol, $500 if not. The damage deposit is fully refundable and will be returned to you, provided there are no cleaning charges, damage costs or security company fees.
If any damage or theft occurs, you will be responsible for the entire amount, even if it exceeds the damage deposit amount.
We’re thinking of bringing children – any special rules or regulations?
Children are always welcome, however it is your responsibility to see that they are supervised at all times. It’s in both your and our interest to keep children away from the Ponds, Gardens and Pastures. And of course, children are welcome in the mansion, but only when accompanied by a responsible adult.
Do you provide decorations for my event? Am I able to bring my own in?
We’re excited to help you make this day unique to you, and will gladly help you create a look and feel that’s both special and memorable. We’re one of Seattle’s unique registered Historic Sites, and for this reason, have limitations on alterations and customizations to the property.
We’re considering offering cigars as a part of our day, and some of our guests smoke – what do we need to know about the property and smoking rules?
Your guests are more than welcome to smoke outside in our designated smoking areas, but The Sanders Estate is designated as a Non-Smoking Area.
How long may I rent the Sanders Estate for?
A standard rental agreement is for 8hrs, however more time may be reserved at an additional fee. We are always flexible to help make your event amazing.
